My apologies for this gloomy construction photo. I have
newer color shots, of the finished house, packed away, but
have not located them yet. Imagine it after the doors and
windows got painted, decks, landscaping, etc. This is the
side of the house, away from the road, thus the lack of a
definitive "front door." It is on the opposite side.

This is my version of the basic bungalow. Main floor area
is under 600ft,² however, instead of building the attic with
trusses, as is common practice in modern housing, the attic is
the master bedroom suite, with high open ceilings, soaring up to
clerestory windows above, as well as balconies overlooking the
living room, the sunspace, and on out to the view. The basement,
was designed to be a walk-out, opening out onto ground level.
There are two bedrooms, a play area, and shop on that floor.
All of the floor levels open onto the sunspace, which is a tall
narrow glass porch, covering all the south wall. The sunspace
heats up when the sun shines. The warm air rises to the attic,
where it warms containers of water. From there, heat is moved
down to warm the house, via a radiant lower floor. By using
the spaces that are often ignored or unfinished in most
houses, the final functional floor area of this basic
600ft² house, was expanded to nearly 1500ft²

this, and my other Solar houses work,

section of this website.

Below is my attempt to modify the above image, to give
a little better idea of what the completed house looks
like. However, the image is still pretty gloomy looking.
This page, and images, will be updated.
